Youth Mission Blog

Here are some updates from today's work.  These updates are typed up by youth on the job sites (I correct some spelling...and details if need be, but do my best to keep it in their words.) Group 2: Today we went to Black Mountain to work with Harvest of Hope.  We packed bags of mushrooms and okra, split up to pack orders of food onto pallets and moved dry wall, reconvened for lunch, went to pick up doors and miscellaneous wood from a box car, drove back to the place and unloaded the doors and wood into the warehouse. Group 3: when we arrived at the site, we spoke with the homeowner and learned what we needed to do. One group began shoveling dirt from a big pile into a big sinkhole, another group got onto the roof of the house to clean the gutters, and another group began cutting down branches that were hanging above the house and shed.
